Australia tour to England 1934. ‘Cambridge University v Australians 1934’. Original large mono photograph of both teams, seated and standing in rows wearing cricket attire and assorted blazers, for the match played at Fenner’s 9th- 11th May 1934. Australians featured are Woodfull (Captain), Bradman, Ponsford, McCabe, Brown, Wall, O’Reilly, Ebeling, Fleetwood-Smith, Barnett, Darling, Grimmett and Oldfield. The Cambridge University players, all of whom went on to play County cricket, are J.H. Human (Captain), A.W. Allen, A.F. Skinner, R.D.K. Winlaw, H.P. Dinwiddy, H.T. Bartlett, J.G.W. Davies, Jahangir Kahn (India 4 Tests), H.R. Cox, A.G. Powell and J.W.T. Grimshaw. The photograph, with decorative hand printed title, university emblem and players’ names to mount borders, by Stearn & Sons of Cambridge, measures 11.25”x8.5”, laid to official photographer’s mount, overall 17”x14.5”. Sold with a colour copy photograph of a London Evening News poster proclaiming ‘Bradman 0’. Very good condition.
