England v Australia 1953 ‘Coronation Tour’. Original mono press photograph of the Australian team, wearing tour blazers, being presented to HM The Queen at Lord’s for the tour match v Middlesex 18th- 21st July 1953. Players include Hassett (Captain), Hole, Benaud, Miller, Morris, Johnston etc., also the manager, Davies. Sport & General. Sold with five original sepia press photographs from the drawn 1st Test, Trent Bridge, 11th- 16th June 1953. Images depict players being introduced to the Australian Prime Minister Robert Menzies, Morris and Hole walking out to bat, Hassett and Morris in batting action, and Alec Bedser leading the England team off the field through the crowd at the conclusion of the Australians’ second innings in which Bedser took seven wickets in each innings, fourteen in the match.
