All India tour to England 1936. Large original mono press photograph depicting the Indian team being led on to the field by captain Maharai Kumar of Vizianagram for the opening match of the 1936 tour v A.P. [Tich] Freeman’s XI at the Bat and Ball Ground, Gravesend, Kent on the 29th April 1936. The open topped pavilion in the background with crowds in attendance. Players include Palia, Nissar, Nayudu, Vizianagram, Ramaswami, Amarnath, Mushtaq Ali, Merchant etc. The photograph by Sport & General, London, measures 12”x10”. A very nice image, very light creasing otherwise in good/very good condition.
The drawn one day match was played twelve per side.
