Indian tour of England 1971. Large exhibition style mono photograph of the Indian touring team taken in front of the pavilion at the Oval in 1971. The players, sitting and standing in rows, wearing cricket attire and touring blazers include Ajit Wadekar (Cpt), Kirmani, Vishwanath, Venkataraghavan, Engineer, Gavaskar, Solkar, Prasanna, Bedi, Chandrashekhar, Mankad, Krishnamurthy, Jayantilal etc. The photograph laid down to a wooden exhibition board with holes to each corner presumably to hang the picture at some point. The photograph measures 18.5”x13” and overall with board 23”x19”. An excellent image. Good/very good condition
Off the back of their first series win (against the West Indies) India managed their first Test and series victory in England when they won by four wickets in the third and final Test at The Oval, the first two rain affected matches being drawn
