Actors’ letters to M.C.C. 1948. Two original letters to the Secretary of M.C.C. at Lord’s. One is a small typed letter from Laurence Olivier, dated 11th February 1948, requesting that his eleven year old son be put down for membership. Very nicely signed in ink by Olivier. Also a single page handwritten letter dated 22nd May 1948 from Ralph Lynn (of the Aldwych farces) responding to an enclosed telegram for Grand Stand tickets at Lord’s. Sold with a handwritten note from C.B. Fry, writing from the training ship ‘Mercury’. The undated message simply states ‘Not coming today, Commander’, and signed ‘Fry’. Also two printed autograph sheets with facsimile signatures, one for the M.C.C. tour to Australia 1946/47, the other for the Australian tour to England 1948. Odd minor faults, otherwise in good condition. Qty 6.
