Original sepia press photograph of Hedley Verity being congratulated by both the Yorkshire and Warwickshire Captains, Frank Greenwood and Bob Wyatt, on his achievement in Warwickshire’s second innings following the conclusion of the County Championship match, with eager schoolboys surrounding them awaiting an autograph. The photograph nicely signed in ink by Verity, Greenwood and Wyatt. The photograph, by The Topical Press Agency of Fleet Street, measures 8”x6”. Very good condition. Verity took all ten wickets in an innings for the first time, one LBW, one stumped and eight caught. He took the last five wickets in eight balls for seven runs. He took three wickets for 61 runs in the first innings. Warwickshire batted first and made 201 all out. Yorkshire replied with 298 all out and then Verity bowled Warwickshire out in the second innings for 72.
