M.C.C. Club & Ground v Sussex 1855. Early original double sided scorecard for the match played at Lord’s 11th & 12th June 1855 with complete printed scores. Sussex (104 & 94) beat M.C.C. (88 & 94) by 16 runs. Henry Royston took eight wickets for M.C.C. in the first innings, and John Wisden returned match figures of 12/92 for Sussex. Other notable names include Spenser Ponsonby, Arthur Haygarth, James Grundy, Henry Royston (M.C.C.), Edwin Napper, John Lillywhite, Thomas Box (Sussex) etc. Printed by Lillywhite’s Printing Tent on the ground with fixtures and advertising to front and verso. 4.5”x6”. Horizontal fold, some age toning, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
