Bombay ‘Quadrangular Cricket Tournament’ 1925/26. ‘Bombay Gymkhana Official Scorecard’. 8pp booklet in original decorative paper wrappers comprising scorecards of the first two matches played in the 1925/26 tournament, Europeans v Muslims (Europeans won by eight wickets) and Hindus v Parsees (Hindus won on first innings) and, to the centre pages, a blank scorecard for the Final, Europeans v Hindus played at Bombay 7th- 10th December 1925 (Hindus won by four wickets). A previous owner has noted that this copy originally belonged to Norton Montressor Hughes-Hallett (Derbyshire & Europeans 1913-1927, ten matches) who played in the tournament for the Europeans and has annotated in blue pencil with an ‘X’ those pages where his name appears in the programme. Sold with an official folding scorecard from the same tournament for the match Hindus v Parsees, Bombay 3rd- 5th December 1925 with printed and handwritten scores, and three pages of Tournament records and statistics from its inception in its ‘Quadrangular’ format in 1912 up to and including the first match of the current tournament, similarly annotated in blue pencil by Hughes-Hallett. Folds and some age toning to both items, otherwise in good condition.
