Lord’s Taverners 1960s/1970s. A selection of eleven signed letters from the collection of Alan Curtis, English actor and Lord’s cricket announcer, relating to Curtis’ involvement with Lord’s Taverners charity fundraising matches and events. Notable is one from Colin Cowdrey thanking Curtis and the Lord’s Taverners committee for their congratulations on Kent winning the County Championship in 1970. Others include replies to invitations to play in matches from Don Kenyon, Stanley Baker, Bob Gale and Jack Flavell, also Len Hutton apologising for not contributing an article for a brochure, Geoff Boycott complaining about Sir Neville Cardus not being invited to an awards function in 1972, and others including Eric Morecambe, Harry Secombe etc. Good condition.
