Cricket belt buckle. An excellent oblong shaped belt buckle in soft gilt metal overlaid with silver metal feature to centre, the circular centre decorated with as a large cricket ball with seam within attractive decorative laurel wreath design, attractive borders. This buckle was made as a tradesman’s sample. Circa 1870. Approximately 2.75”x2”. The buckle in bright mint unused original condition and loosely mounted to card by thread with ref number ‘1229GP’ to paper piece below Previously sold by Christie’s Auctioneers in June 1997
