‘Conway’s Australian Cricketers’ Annual for 1876-77’. John Conway. F.F. Bailliere, Melbourne 1877, first year of issue. 236pp plus advertising. Handsomely rebound in half calf and marbled boards, gilt title to spine, red speckled page edges. Original stiffened card wrappers retained. Pages checked and complete. Padwick 3363. Very good condition. A scarce annual.
The volume includes a report on the ‘Campaign of the English Cricketers 1876-77 (pages 20-36). According to Padwick, only one further issue was published in 1879, covering the 1877-78 season, titled ‘The tour of the Australian XI through England, America and the Colonies’.
