‘The Revival of Sport in Barbados: A Full Chronicle of the Intercolonial Cricket Tournament, 1920, Barbados vs. Trinidad and Barbados Turf Club Races 16th & 17th February 1920’. Barbados Advocate 1920. 60pp plus advertising pages. Rebound in green half calf with marbled boards, gilt to spine, original pictorial wrappers retained with cover title ‘The Revival of Sport in the West Indies...’. Padwick 3690. The original front and rear wrappers with some loss, front wrapper laid to card. Some age toning and minor wear to pages, otherwise in good condition. A rare book.
In the first match there were three Barbadian centuries in the first innings. In the second P.H. Tarilton made the first score of over 200 in a West Indies first-class match with his 304 not out for Barbados who made 623, the first total of over 600 in first-class cricket.
