Printed paper wrappers with original black taped spine. Limited edition number 29 of 50 copies printed and signed by the two authors. Padwick 7297-1. Sold with an original copy of ‘”Played On.” The Troubles of a County Captain’, Emily Bardswell, London 1898. Bound in original green cloth, gilt title to spine. Padwick 5927-1. Ex J.W. Gerald Roscoe Bardswell played for Oxford University and Lancashire and was a member of Lord Hawke’s teams to North America in 1894 and the West Indies in 1896-97, and captained Lancashire in 1899. His aunt, Emily Bardswell, wrote ‘Played On’ an illustration of the social background to cricket in the 1890s.
