Edward Roy Nesfield, Worcestershire C.C.C. 1919-1920 & Somerset Stragglers. Somerset Stragglers striped cricket blazer, by D. Brown & Co of Taunton worn by Nesfield. The mid blue blazer with thin stripes of red and gold has name handwritten to the label at the neck of the blazer. In the pocket of the blazer is a moroccan leather cigarette case also in the Stragglers colours. The blazer and cigarette case worn, the blazer has a torn pocket, some fading to the blue, some wear to the cuffs and collar of the blazer and some staining to the back of the blazer otherwise in fair/good condition
Nesfield played for the ‘Stragglers’ for many years and played three first class matches for Worcestershire. The Somerset Stragglers club was founded in 1900, until 1980 they played matches on the County Ground at Taunton. Vic Marks, Peter Roebuck and Jeremy Lloyds all played for the Stragglers and went onto to play county cricket with Somerset
