William Howard Vincent ‘Hopper’ Levett. Kent & England 1930-1947. A pair of Gradidge ‘Frank Woolley Guard’ wicket keeping pads, a high quality cricket pad, with the newly patented ‘pneumatic Cushion’ padding. The pads worn by Levett during his long playing career. Levett has written his name ‘W.H.V. Levett’ several times to the back of the pads. Some minimal wear to the front, some staining and wear to the backs otherwise in good condition. The pads are interesting in that they show that Levett preferred to wear two right handed pads, a change to the buckles required to obtain maximum protection
William Howard Vernon ‘Hopper’ Levett. Kent & England 1930-1947. Levett played 142 matches for Kent as wicket keeper in the period, taking 283 catches and 195 stumpings. His highest score with the bat was 76. He toured India and Ceylon with the M.C.C. in 1933/34 playing in one Test match on the tour.
