All India tour to England 1936. Original sepia press photograph depicting ten of the Indian team walking on to the field for the opening match of the 1936 tour v A.P. [Tich] Freeman’s XI at the Bat and Ball Ground, Maidstone, 29th April 1936. The open topped pavilion in the background with crowds in attendance. The photograph is nicely signed in ink to the photograph by all ten players. Signatures are Palia, Nissar, Nayudu, Vizianagram, Ramaswami, Amarnath, Mushtaq Ali, Hussain and Merchant. The drawn one day match was played twelve per side. The photograph by Sport & General, London, measures 10”x8.25”. Ex J.W. Goldman collection. Some creasing to top right corner, light adhesive marks to verso where previously laid down, otherwise a nice image in good/ very good condition.
