M.C.C. tour to Australia 1924/25. A selection of nine original mono press photographs of match action from the tour. Matches featured include v Victoria at Melbourne, 14th- 19th November 1924. Images depict the players rushing off the field for rain at the close of play, Johnny Douglas diving to field a ball off Stork Hendry, and Hendry hitting the winning run for Victoria ‘with only half a minute to spare’. Others include the first Test at Sydney, 19th- 27th December 1924, Sutcliffe scoring his first run in England’s first innings, also v. New South Wales 21st- 25th November 1924, Arthur Mailey opening the batting in the second innings with Otto Nothling etc. Official stamps to verso for Sun Newspapers Sydney and V. Forbin, Clamart (Seine), the majority with original press captions intact. Each 8.5”x6.5”. Very good condition.
