M.C.C. tour of South Africa 1948/49. Official sepia photograph of the ‘R.M.M.V. Stirling Castle’, the ship which brought the M.C.C. touring team back to England following the tour. The photograph laid down to original photographers mount with title to lower border. Nicely signed to the photograph in blue ink by all sixteen players and the Manager M.A. Green. Signatures include Mann (Captain), Hutton, Washbrook, Tremlett, Jenkins, Evans, Compton, Simpson, Bedser, Palmer, Gladwin etc. Also signed again by Compton to mount border. Official stamp to verso for Colling Turner Photos Ltd., Hatfield. 10”x7.75” overall. Minor fading to signatures otherwise in good/very good condition.
