England v West Indies. 2nd Test, Lord’s 1966. Eight original mono press photographs of action from the 2nd Test at Lord’s, 16th- 21st June 1966. Images depict Geoff Boycott in batting action for England in their first innings on the second day’s play. Six images from the third day including Cowdrey caught by Gibbs at slip off Hall, and Jim Parks out lbw to Carew, Knight bowled by Griffith in England’s first innings. Barry Knight taking a brilliant diving catch at slip off the bowling of Higgs to dismiss Carew for a second ball duck in the West Indies’ second innings. Barrington having his stumps shattered by Griffth in England’s second innings. Also a view of the large crowds in attendance, and another from the fourth day of a jubilant West Indies supporter in cricket attire waving a flag. Each measures 10”x8” with official ‘Sport & General’ press stamp to verso. Very good condition.
The match ended in a draw with second innings centuries from Garry Sobers (163no) and David Holford (105no) for West Indies, and Colin Milburn (126no) for England.
