Yorkshire C.C.C. 1867 and 1869. Two early original scorecards with complete printed scores for Yorkshire matches played. One single sided scorecard for the ‘Grand Cricket Match between Yorkshire & Cambridgeshire’ 1867, Wisbech, 15th- 17th July 1867, a low scoring match which Yorkshire won by one wicket. Yorkshire’s Joseph Rowbotham top scorer with 34 in both innings. Printer unknown. The other double sided scorecard is for Surrey v. Yorkshire, Kennington Oval, 5th- 7th August 1869. Yorkshire won by seven wickets and featured centuries by both Yorkshire’s openers in the first innings, Rowbotham scoring 101 and Ephraim Lockwood 103. Also playing for Yorkshire, Alfred Firth made his only first-class appearance in this match. Printed by Merser and Gardner of Kennington Cross. Advertising to verso. Both measure 4.5”x6” with heavy faults. The 1867 scorecard with horizontal and vertical folds and staining, old tape repair to verso, the 1869 spilt to horizontal fold with old tape repair to verso. Overall in fair condition.
