‘Gentlemen of Sussex and the Cambridge Quidnuncs’ 1866. Early original scorecard for the match played at Brighton [Royal Brunswick Ground, Hove], 16th- 18th August 1866 with complete printed scores. Played with twelve per side, this high scoring match was drawn with Quidnuncs scoring 476 in their only innings (F. Lee 120, R.A. Fitzgerald 77, W.B. Weighell 50) and Gentlemen of Sussex ending their first innings at 315/10 (W. Greenhill 90, C.C. Ewbank 68, F.S. Hore 64). Originally from the archives of Sussex C.C.C. Printed by H. Crowhurst. 3.5”x4.75”. The scorecard, with two neat holes to the upper margin, appears to have been laid down to tightly trimmed stiff card. Staining and age toning, otherwise in good condition.
