‘The County of Lancaster [Lancashire] v. The County of Surrey’ 1869. Early original single sided scorecard with near complete printed scores for the match played at Old Trafford, Manchester, 27th- 29th May 1869. Electing to bat first, Surrey posted 209 with George Griffith top scorer on 78. Replying, Lancashire reached 255 (Edmund Rowley 52, Cornelius Coward 49, Roger Iddison 48, James Southerton taking 5/66 for Surrey). In the second innings, Surrey were dismissed for 132 (Ted Pooley 37). Arthur Appleby took 8/68 for Lancashire and ended with match bowling figures of eleven wickets for 144 runs. Lancashire then chased down their target, ending 87/3 to win by seven wickets. Printed by William Whittam, ‘Printer for the All England Eleven’. 4.5”x6”.
