Australia tour to England 1886. ‘England v. Australians’. Second Test 1886. Early original double sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the second Test match, Lord’s 19th- 21st July 1886. Electing to bat first having won the toss, England scored 353 on a rain affected pitch. Arthur Shrewsbury played a fine innings to make 164, Billy Barnes 58. In reply, Australia could reach only 121, Johnny Briggs taking 5/29 off 34 (four ball) overs, 22 of which were maidens. Following on, Australia were dismissed cheaply again, this time for 126, Briggs taking a further six wickets to end with match bowling figures of eleven wickets for 74 runs, England winning by an innings and 106 runs. Printed fixtures for matches at Lord’s and M.C.C. ‘Out-matches’ for 1886 to verso. 4.5”x6”. Horizontal fold with some splitting to fold, section of fixtures to verso detached, otherwise in good condition.
