‘Surrey v. Lancashire’ 1898. Early original double sided scorecard with complete printed scores for the match played at Kennington Oval, 18th- 20th August 1898. Surrey elected to bat first and set the huge total of 634 with Tom Hayward scoring a career best 315no, supported by Len braund (85) and Digby Jephson (54). Lancashire were then bowled out for 173, (Alexander Eccles 51). Following on, an opening stand of 78 by Lancashire openers Albert Ward (63) and James Hallows (51) ensured they held on for a draw with relative ease, ending 210/4. Printed on the ground by Merritt & Hatcher, London. 4.5”x6”. Some age toning to top edge, adhesive marks to verso, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
