‘Nottinghamshire v Middlesex’ 1905. Early original commemorative silk scorecard for the match played at Trent Bridge, 17th- 19th August 1905. Nottinghamshire elected to bat first and declared their innings on reaching 418/5, Arthur Jones scoring 123, George Gunn 110, John Gunn 68 and James Iremonger 61, with Middlesex using nine bowlers. In reply Middlesex struggled to 187 (Frank Tarrant 64, Albert Trott 45), Tom Wass taking 5/65. Following on, Middlesex just held on to finish 279/9, (Bernard Bosanquet 68, Tarrant 63, Clayton Palmer 55no), the match ending in a tight draw. George Gunn returned his best bowling figures of 5/50. Assumed to be from the collection of Arthur Jones. The scorecard is partially laid down by the top and bottom edges to black album page. Slight adhesive show-through, otherwise in very good condition.
William Goodall Heymann made his only first-class appearance in this match for Nottinghamshire. He bowled 23 overs, taking two wickets for 48 runs and did not bat.
