Hampshire C.C.C. Triangular Test Tournament tour matches 1912. Two rare original scorecards for the tour matches played by the Australians and South Africans against Hampshire during the 1912 Triangular Test series. The Hampshire v. Australians match, played at Southampton, 22nd- 24th July 1912 with complete printed and handwritten scores in ink and faintly in pencil. Hampshire chose to bat first and put on a healthy 371, C.P. Mead top scorer with 160no. In reply the Australians were dismissed for 197, Alex Kennedy taking 6/90 for Hampshire. Following on, the Australians reached 256, Kennedy taking a further five wickets to give him match bowling figures of eleven wickets for 181 runs. Hampshire then chased down the target, ending 86/2 to win by eight wickets, to record their first historic victory over the Australians. The single sided scorecard for the match against the South Africans, played at Dean Park, Bournemouth, 2nd- 4th September 1912, with incomplete printed scores, was drawn. South Africans scored 162 (Stricker 99) and 432 (Nourse 213no), in reply Hampshire made 137 and 187/6 (C.P. Mead 77no). Both measure 4.75”x7.25”, printers unknown. Folds to both, otherwise in good condition.
