‘Cricket Match in aid of the Richmond Hospital’ 1915. Official folding programme/ scorecard for the charity match, Rev. J Burroughs’ XI v Mr R.W. Hawtin’s Team played on Richmond Green, 25th September 1915. The programme with decorative front wrapper, teams listed to centre pages and, to the rear, details of ‘notable sportsmen [who] have promised their assistance during the afternoon’ with twenty two listed below including Olympic sailors, boxers, swimmers, cyclist etc. The information also describes ‘Six programmes have been autographed by the well-known sportsmen who are assisting to-day and these will be offered for sale...’. The programme has been signed to the front in ink by eighteen, including some of the cricketers who played. Cricketers’ signatures include C.B. Fry (Hampshire), E. Mignon (Middlesex), E. Goatley (Sussex) etc. No record of the match can be found. Horizontal and vertical folds, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
