‘England v Australia (2nd Test)’ 1928/29. Official double sided scorecard for the 2nd Ashes Test, played at Sydney Cricket Ground, 14th- 20th December 1928 (Timeless Test). Complete printed scores. Australia elected to bat first and made 253, Bill Woodfull top scorer with 68, George Geary taking 5/35. In reply England amassed an impressive total of 636, Wally Hammond scoring 251, Patsy Hendren 74, George Geary 66. Australia then scored 397 in their second innings with centuries from Stork Hendry (112) and Woodfull (111). Set only fifteen to win, England reached their target, ending 16/2 to win by eight wickets. Printed on the ground by T.M. Greene. 5”x8.25”. Tour fixtures and advertising to verso. Very good condition.
Having made his Test debut in the 1st Test, Don Bradman was twelfth man in this match, but came on as a substitute fielder in England’s second innings, and took a catch to dismiss Maurice Tate. He returned to play the remaining matches in the series.
