‘Oxford v. Cambridge’ 1931. Official commemorative silk scorecard for the Varsity match played at Lord’s, 6th- 8th July 1931. In a game featuring two double centuries, Cambridge University batted first and reached 385 with Alan Ratcliffe scoring 201, George Kemp-Welch 87, Robert Scott taking 6/64. In reply Oxford University made 453/8 dec., the Nawab of Pataudi scoring 238no, Freddie Brown taking 5/153. In the second innings Cambridge were bowled out for 122, (Lyn Wellings 5/25). Requiring 55 to win, Oxford reached their target for the loss of two batsmen to win by eight wickets. Approx. 7.5”x9”, the scorecard is lightly laid to black album page. Very good condition.
