Kent County Cricket Club Annual 1877-1878. Hardback ‘blue book’. Original decorative boards. Gilt titles and to all page edges with silver gilt Kent emblem ‘Invicta’ to centre. Printed by C.E. Davey, ‘Kent Herald’ Office 1878. Minor age toning, wear and slight darkening to board edges, slight fading and wear to spine otherwise in very good condition with titles bright. Very rare first issue of the ‘blue book’
The famous Kent ‘Blue Book’ was published annually from 1878 to 1946 with breaks in publication during the two World Wars (1914-18, 1940-44). Each issue contains a review of the season prior to the year of publication
