‘The All England Cricket & Football Journal and Athletic Review’ 1879. Volume Two. Published by Martin Hurst of Sheffield. Bound volume of the Journal containing twelve editions from April 1878 to April 1879, all with original wrappers featuring a real photograph portrait of a player or team to the front wrapper. The book bound with title page, large full page frontispiece real photograph portrait of ‘The Derbyshire Cricketers’ of 1879 and index. Minor ageing to boards otherwise in very good condition
The Journal ran for 29 issues from April 1877 to October 1879. The players featured on the front wrapper portraits in this volume are the Sheffield Wednesday Football Club Cup team, George Ulyett, George Parr, Thomas Emmett, The Australian Cricketers, Alfred Shaw, Henry Jupp, Arthur Greenwood, Frederick Morley, William Cann, Louis Hall and John Selby .
