Thomas Godfrey Evans. Kent & England 1946-1959. Large photograph album personally compiled by Evans to record events and matches played to mark his 70th birthday celebrations in 1990. Contents include magazine page extracts, newspaper cuttings, colour and mono candid and some press photographs including an Old England(?) colour team photograph at Northumberland C.C.C., numerous photographs of Evans signing bats, at functions and dinners, being presented to The Queen, and menus including for a lunch given at Evans’ last match at Canterbury 16th September 1990, with photographs. Other notable former players and guests featured include Fred Trueman, Reg Simpson, Trevor Bailey, Denis Compton, John Major etc. One cutting signed by Evans. To the front endpaper is a dedication in ink in Evans’ own hand, ‘Some Happy Memories of my 70th Year’, signed ‘Godfrey’. Very good condition.
