‘Lancashire v Rest of England’ Champion County match 1928. Full size Windett of Bolton ‘Ernest Tyldesley’ autograph bat signed in ink to the face by thirteen members of the Lancashire team and eleven of The Rest, for the match played at Kennington Oval 14th- 17th September 1928. The bat fully signed in ink to the face by a very strong ‘The Rest’ team. Signatures are Chapman (Captain), Hobbs, Larwood, Sutcliffe, Hendren, Woolley, Tate, Leyland, Ames, Hammond and Freeman. Lancashire signatures are Green (Captain), Makepeace, E. Tyldesely, Hopwood, Duckworth, Hallows, R. Tyldesley, Taylor, Halliday, Iddon, Sibbles, Watson and MacDonald. Fading to some signatures but all legible. Perishing and loss to the bat rubber. Some wear to the blade, otherwise in generally good condition.
Effectively a full England XI, The Rest won by an innings and 91 runs with three centurions in their only innings of 603/8 declared, Hobbs scoring 150, Sutcliffe 139 and Hendren 174.
