Scarborough Cricket Festival 1947. Four mono real photograph postcards of teams at Scarborough. One depicts the Yorkshire team entering the field for the match v M.C.C. 3rd- 5th September 1947. The others with players standing in one row in front of the pavilion wearing cricket attire, one for the North XI, another for the South XI for the match played 6th- 9th September 1947, the other of the Gentlemen team v Players, 10th- 12th September 1947. Players’ names, annotated in pencil to verso of each, include Sellers, Barber, Smithson, Hutton, Smailes, Yardley, Bowes, Robinson, Watson, Brennan, Wardle, Place, Cranston, Pollard, Hardstaff, Washbrook, Brookes, Fishlock, Wooller, Wyatt, Brown, A. Bedser, Evans, Edrich, Mallett, Cheetham etc. Handwritten title in ink to lower border of each postcard, three with official stamp to verso of Walkers Studios, Scarborough. Very good condition.
