W.G. Grace. Early large original mono photograph of Grace with the England lawn bowling team seated and standing in rows all wearing matching jackets and straw hats in front of a pavilion on a visit to Belfast, Northern Ireland c.1910. Grace is seated fourth from the right in the front row. The photograph by Hembry of Belfast measures approx. 13”x11” with official photographer’s mount overlaid, overall 16.5”x19”. An excellent image in very good condition.
W.G. Grace was a keen lawn bowler and founded the England Bowling Association in 1903, becoming its first president. He was instrumental in establishing international competitions with Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
