Lionel Hallam [Lord] Tennyson. Hampshire & England 1913-1935. A collection of original team and action photographs, all featuring Tennyson in the 1920s and 1930s. Team photographs include The Gentlemen for the match v Players, Lord’s 1920 (some staining to lower edge), two similar but different team photographs of the M.C.C. tour to Jamaica 1925/26, and another from the 1931/32 tour. Four from the 5th Test, England v Australia, Kennington Oval 1921,Tennyson going out to inspect the pitch escorted by policemen, being hit by McDonald of Australia while batting, and two of large crowds (and a lot of hats). Press photographs of ‘Tennyson hitting a 6 into Mound Stand’ for Hampshire v Middlesex, Lord’s 1923, and in batting action v Lancashire 1921. Two of Tennyson standing full length leaning on a bat, wearing M.C.C. tour blazer 1921, and another in cricket attire. Some press photographs laid to album pages back to back, with handwritten captions. Various sizes, the majority 8”x6”. Odd faults, otherwise in good condition. Qty 12.
