'Close of Play'

M.C.C. tour to Pakistan 1977/78. A good selection of invitations, tickets, letters, passes etc. relating to the tour from the collection of Irving Rosenwater, all contained in a buff envelope with his distinctive handwritten titles to the front in different coloured inks. Items include an official M.C.C. tour Christmas card fully(?) signed by nineteen members of the touring party including Gatting, Downton, Miller, Randall, Boycott, Botham, Roope, Taylor, Brearley, Old, Hendrick, Lever, Barrington (Manager) etc., several official invitations including one in its original envelope issued to Derek Randall for a reception given by the President of Pakistan, held at the Presidency in Rawalpindi, 30th November 1977, and an invitation to Rosenwater to attend a ‘Farewell Party’ given by the England touring party at the Hotel Intercontinental, Karachi, 22nd January 1978. A good selection of match tickets including, for the 1st Test at Lahore, an official ‘Player’s Guest’ admission ticket, five tea and luncheon tickets, and a press pass issued to the journalist, Alex Bannister, also a complimentary V.I.P. pass for the 2nd Test, Hyderabad, press pass for the one day international at Lahore etc. Other items include blank scoresheets and captain report sheet, letter of invitation to Geoffrey Saulez (tour scorer) to attend the Man of the Match Award for the Lahore Test, a small original mono photograph of the England touring party at Rawalpindi etc. Good condition.
