Sussex C.C.C. 1899. Large original lined page beautifully signed in ink by the Sussex team who played Kent at The Angel Ground, Tonbridge on the 5th to 7th June 1899. Thirteen signatures in total, the eleven that played at Tonbridge plus the signatures of P.H. Latham and F.H. Greeson who played in the return fixture at Hove on the 31st August, 1st & 2nd September. The signatures are W.L. Murdoch (Cpt), G.R. Cox, G. Brann, E.H. Killick, H.R. Butt, A. Collins, F.W. Tate, K.S. Ranjitsinhji, C.B. Fry, W. Newham, C.H.G. Bland, P.H. Latham and F.H. Greeson. Title ‘Sussex’ to the head of the page. The page laid down to card. Overall 7”x8.5”. An early and delightful set of Sussex team signatures. Very good condition
In a remarkable match Sussex followed on making 154 to Kent’s first innings total of 278. Sussex then made 350 all out and bowled Kent out for 114 to win by 112 runs. Cyril Bland took ten wickets for 48 runs in Kent’s second innings, Fry made 85 runs in the second innings and Ranji made 43 and 46. For Kent Walter Bradley took twelve wickets in the match
