Sussex C.C.C. 1921. Large album page very nicely signed in black ink by the twelve members of the Sussex team who played Leicestershire at Aylestone Road, Leicester 21st- 24th May 1921. Signatures are Stannard, Cox, Bowley, Street, Tate, Jenner, Roberts, Higgs, Jupp, A.H.H. Gilligan, A.E.R. Gilligan and the rarer W.G.M. Sarel (Surrey, Kent, Sussex & Trinidad 1904-1921, 35 matches). 6”x7.75”. Minor soiling and nick to lower corner, otherwise in good/ very good condition.
In a match featuring four centuries, Jupp (179) and Bowley (127) put on 235 for the opening wicket in Sussex’s first innings of 479. Leicestershire replied with 338 (Sharp 150). Sussex were then bowled out for 117, and Leicestershire ran out winners by three wickets, King ending 110no.George Street (Sussex & England, 1 Test 1909-1923) was killed in a motorcycling accident in 1923.
