Edward Ralph Dexter. Sussex & England 1957-1968. Brown M.C.C./England ‘Gray Nicolls’ cricket coffin, decorated in M.C.C./England colours and Dexter’s name and tour details to sides, used by Dexter on the M.C.C. tour of South Africa in 1965/66, signed by Dexter. The coffin contains a pair of ‘Gray Nicolls’ batting pads and a pair of batting gloves, all signed by Dexter plus two pairs of cricket trousers, batting protector, jock strap, boot bag etc. These items probably used at various times by Dexter, rather than purely on this tour.
