‘Bodyline’. M.C.C. tour to Australia 1932/33. Two original and complete copies of ‘The Sporting Globe’ newspaper published by the Herald and Weekly Times, Melbourne, for Wednesday 14th December 1932 and Wednesday 25th September 1935. The front page of the 1932 issue reports on the aftermath of the 1st Test, which England won by ten wickets, with the headline ‘Problem of Our Test Match batting: Do not change our opening pair’ and a large cartoon of an Australian boy in sailor suit complaining to Plum Warner about the ‘leg theory’ bowling tactics. Further cricket coverage on pp10/11. The 1935 issue carries the first in a series on the Bodyline series by George Hele, one of the umpires, claiming that it was George Duckworth, the English wicket-keeper, who first conceived the idea of Bodyline. The 1932 issue with staining to the front and tear to lower right corners. The 1935 in good condition.
