Charles Hamlin Smith. Sussex 1861-1874. Early carte de visite sepia studio photograph card of Smith in cricket attire holding bat to side. The photograph by ‘Monsieur A. Boucher of Brighton, with advertising to verso. Overall 2.5”x4.25” Minor speckling to image otherwise in good condition
Smith captained Sussex from 1864-1874, jointly in his first and last seasons. His brother Arthur played for Sussex as did his son C.L.A. Smith who captained the County in 1909
