Yorkshire C.C.C. c.1880s-1890s. Nine excellent early original sepia photographs of individual Yorkshire players of the period. Four are by E. Hawkins & Co., Brighton, Lord Hawke, George Hirst, both in batting pose at the wicket, Schofield Haigh, Wilfred Rhodes, both in bowling pose at the wicket. Other images, assumed also to be by Hawkins, feature Jack Brown, F.S. Jackson, both in batting poses, Robert Peel in bowling pose, and three-quarter length studio images of George Ulyett and Tom Emmett. Each photograph measures approx. 4”x 5.5”, laid to crudely trimmed photographer’s mount. It appears that all the images were originally mounted together as a group prior to being broken up. Adhesive marks and damage to mounts, presumably having had an earlier window mount removed. Damage to top left corner of the Rhodes and Ulyett photographs, others in very good condition.
