‘The South African Cricket Team 1924’. Large and impressive sepia photograph of the South African touring team to England in 1924, seated and standing in rows, wearing cricket attire and tour caps. The photograph is laid down to official photographers mount with printed title to top and players names to lower borders. Players are H.W. Taylor (Captain), Pegler, Carter, Commaille, Nourse, Nupen, Hearne, Bissett, Dixon, Susskind, Hands, Deane, Ward, Blanckenberg, Meintjes, Catterall, also Allsop (Manager). The photograph, by Sport & General, measures 15”x12.25”, mounted overall 18”x16.5”. Minor loss to the upper and lower corners of the mount, odd nicks otherwise in good/very good condition. An excellent image of this early South Africa touring team.
