Maharaja Kumar of Vizianagram’s XI v M.C.C. 10th to 12th January 1934. Silver [?] salver presented to Hedley Verity by Maharaja Vizianagram during the tour match played at the Maharaja of Benares Palace Ground, Benares on the M.C.C. tour. The salver with inscribed title ‘Vizianagram XI. H. Verity’, a image of Vizianagram’s coat of arms ‘Ever Loyal’ and an engraved image of the cricket pitch/ground with the palace to background. Pie crust/scalloped decorative edge, no makers marks. 8.5” diameter. Very good condition. From the collection of Hedley Verity
Maharaja Kumar of Vizianagram’s XI won the match by 14 runs. The Maharaja made 17 and 2. Verity took 4-39 in the second innings
