Graham Gooch record 333 & 123. England v India. Lord’s 1990. Official scorecard from the collection of Alan Curtis, English actor and Lord’s cricket announcer, with complete handwritten scores and heavily annotated in Curtis’ own hand, for the Lord’s Test match 26th- 31st July 1990 in which Gooch scored 333 and 123. Signed by all five centurions in the match, Gooch, Allan Lamb (139), Robin Smith (100no) for England, Mohammad Azharuddin (121) and Ravi Shastri (100) for India. Also signed by Angus Fraser who took 5/104 in the first innings, eight wickets in the match. Six signatures in total. Sold with another scorecard from the same match with incomplete printed scores and no annotations, signed ‘To Alan’ by Gary Lineker. Very good condition. Qty 2.
England (653/4 dec. & 272/4 dec.) beat India (454 & 224) by 247 runs. Gooch is the first player to hit a triple century and a century in the same game, and his aggregate of 456 remains a Test record.
