Andrew Richard Caddick. Somerset & England 1991-2009. England navy blue cloth Test cap, by Albion C&D of Australia, with embroidered three lions and coronet emblem of England to cap, worn by Caddick in the England v Australia ‘Ashes’ series played in England of the summer of 1997. ‘Shack’ handwritten to the inner label of the cap, this was one of Caddick’s nicknames. Signs of wear otherwise in good+ condition
Andrew Caddick was the leading England bowler in the series taking twenty four wickets for 634 runs giving an average of 26.41. There were six Test matches played in the 1997 series, Caddick took 5-50 in the first Test at Birmingham in Australia’s first innings, 4-71 in the first innings in the 2nd Test at Lord’s and 5-42 in Australia’s second innings in the 6th Test at the Oval. Australia won the Ashes by three Test to two, with one match drawn.

This England cap and the sweater of Caddick and the Glenn McGrath sweater were donated to Sudbury Cricket Club and were auctioned off at a function held by the club to raise much needed funds, the vendor bought the items
