‘Force Bat Series’ advertising postcards c.1911. Four early mono postcards issued by Summers Brown & Co., London. Three are real photographs, featuring a head and shoulders studio portrait of a player wearing cricket attire and cap, with printed signatures and titles to lower margins. Players depicted are Jack Hobbs (Surrey) titled ‘The “Force” bat is the best’ postmarked 1912, Punter Humphreys (Kent) ‘Best Bat “Force” Best Ball’, and Frank Tarrant (Middlesex) ‘I always use a “Force” bat’. Photographs by C. Debenham, London. The other is a mono printed postcard of Hobbs in batting pose with similar title. Three postally unused. Odd minor soiling and light wear, otherwise in good/ very good condition. Excellent images.
