‘The South African Cricketers in England 1904’. Benjamin Wallach. Printed and published by Wallach’s Printing and Publishing Works, Johannesburg c.1905. 62pp with twenty two half-tone plates throughout. Bound in later blue cloth with inset section of original front cover with gilt title to front. Post-tour account of the third visit of a South African team to England, and the ‘first official representative team organised... under the direct control of the South African Cricket Association’, led by F. Mitchell. Padwick 5345 records this title as the first official South African tour book. Extensive repairs to outer page margins throughout with slight loss to several images and minor loss of text on some pages, otherwise in good condition.
