‘The Cricketer’s Autograph Birthday Book’. T. Broadbent Trowsdale (Cover-Point). London 1906. Decorative green cloth covers with portrait of W.G. Grace to front, gilt titles and top page edges. Comprises approx. forty signatures in ink of Test cricketers and some others, signed in ink to their respective birth date on the right hand pages (one exception). The signatures, apparently collected in the 1950s, include Fred Trueman, Jim Laker, Brian Close, Norman Yardley, Alan Oakman, Ted Dexter, Denis Compton, Frank Tyson, Tom Graveney, Len Hutton, A.H.H. Gillligan (signed to the left page), Peter Richardson, Alec and Eric Bedser, Godfrey Evans, Stuart Surridge, Ken Barrington, Trevor Bailey, Peter May (England), Everton Weekes, Alf Valentine, Sonny Ramadhin, Garry Sobers, Wes Hall (West Indies), Gamini Goonesena (Sri Lanka), George Tribe (Australia) etc. Frontispiece page detached with old tape repair. Breaking to page block, some wear to board extremities, otherwise in generally good condition.
